Clinch River, Norris Section Many
experienced anglers consider the section of Clinch River located
below the 265 ft. high Norris Dam to be one of the finest trout
fisheries in the Country. A weir dam divides the section of river immediately adjacent to the City
of Norris into two distinctly
different fishing environments. The section
above the weir dam provides fishermen in boats deeper water in which to fish.
The section below the weir dam provides the more shallow cascading water preferred by fly fishermen in waders. Regardless, there are many river access points along
the Clinch River from which to embark on fishing, boating and other
water sports activities.
