THE NORRIS MUNICIPAL WATERSHED BOARD

In March 1954, the Norris City Council (Council) adopted a resolution outlining three broad management objectives for the Norris watershed. These were:

• Protection of the city’s water supply;

• Natural resources conservation and education; and

• Public recreation

Since our inception, our seven member all volunteer board has worked faithfully to fullfill our City Council's mandate. Most recently in 2016, the Board reassessed it's functions and purpose and recorded that reassessment in our revised Management Plan dated November 17, 2016. We invite you to skim its contents or delve in deeply to its content for further information.

Our Board and the citizens of Norris consider the Norris Watershed to be one of the crown jewels of the City and this region of East Tennessee.
