Mayor Mitchell responded that City Manager Hester is to act on the instruction of the City Council; Council being the legislative body and City Manager having responsibility to execute said legislation.

Guest Speaker Norman Abramson gave a presentation about a program called Canine Companions for Independence. He discussed the various ways CCI works with trained dogs to enhance the independence of individuals living with various disabilities. CCI provides one on one support to the special partnership that exists between humans and their dog partners. The organization always needs volunteers for raising puppies to 18 months of age when the dogs then become eligible for training. Service dogs are now on hand to be used in our area, one possibly coming soon to Norris Academy. To make donations or for further information and/or applications, contact CCI at 1-800-572-BARK,
