Update on City Charter. Jim Hackworth has taken
it to the Legislative Board it will then go to the House for approval, then Senator McNally will review and have approval
at the Board meeting. Should know by April meeting.
CITY MANAGER REPORT
Year to date budget. Property
Tax Collections are on target. State Sales Tax and Local Option Sales Tax continue to run below budget, and Expenditures are
in line to budget to date.
The recreation committee is on its way to having a Family Fun Night Saturday March 27, 2010
from 6pm – 9pm.
The Watershed will be having their clean up day Saturday March 27, 2010.
The City of Norris
Annual Spring Household clean up will be April 12-16.
NEW BUSINESS
Budget Procedures and Budget Meetings
for the 2010-2011 Fiscal Year. Budget workshop is scheduled for April 20, 2010 at 7pm. Mayor Mitchell asked if Vice Mayor
Mariner would lead the budget discussion this year if there were no objections from Council. Mr. Mariner agreed to lead the
budget discussion this year.
9. Council Member Joy Wilson makes a motion to have a Budget workshop day April
20th. Seconded by Council Member Tommy Mariner. Motion carried by voice vote.
Proposed rate change
for the Community Center. Recommend rate change as follows:
- Multi-purpose room (Gym): increase from $75 to $125.
- Community
room: increase from $45 to $60.
- Increase the charge for overtime hours from $10 per hour to $15 per hour.
- Clarify
that Class IV and Class V rentals shall be 30% of Gross or standard room charge, whichever is greater.
Reservations
recommended policy update as follows:
- No reservations will be accepted more than 1 year in advance of an event.
- Re-occurring Class IV and Class V rentals cannot be scheduled more than ninety (90) days in advance.
