City Council will consider an appointment to fill the vacancy at the July 13, 2026 Regular City Council meeting.
Individuals interested in being considered for appointment should submit a letter of interest and any related documents to the City Manager by email at citymanager@norristn.gov no later than Monday, June 22, 2026.
City Council members are expected to attend the regular City Council meeting held on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. City Council also serves as the Water Commission, which meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

All submitted information is a public record and will be made available to the public in advance of the July 13 meeting. This will also provide current City Council members an opportunity to review submissions and speak with interested individuals prior to considering an appointment.

The City of Norris is pleased to announce the 2026 Concerts on the Commons series. This year’s lineup features five evenings of live music for the community to enjoy.
All performances begin at 7:00 p.m. and will take place on the Norris Middle School stage adjacent to the Lion’s Club Pavilion.

• June 26 – Liquid Velvet
• July 4 – 110 in the Shade
• July 10 – Small Wars
Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of music in a welcoming community setting.

Tickets are available for the Norris Little Theatre's production of the Red Velvet Cake War. 
Shows will be held on Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. with an additional show to be held on Sunday May 10th at 2:00 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased on the following dates outside of the Norris Post Office:
  • Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
  • Saturday, April 25 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
  • Saturday, May 2 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
Beginning Monday, May 4, tickets will be available for purchase in the City Office from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15. Children 5 and under can get in for free.

These positions offer a chance to gain hands-n work experience while contributing to the maintenance of City facilities and the operation of community recreation programs. Positions generally begin in late May and run through the summer.
Public Works Summer Crew
The Public Works Summer Crew assists City staff with a variety of outdoor projects and maintenance activities. Work may include trail and park maintenance, facility upkeep, landscaping, and other general labor supporting City infrastructure and natural areas. This position is well suited for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and contributing to the care of Norris’s public spaces.
​Recreation Crew Leaders
Recreation Crew Leaders support the City’s summer recreation programming by helping plan and supervise activities for youth participants. Duties include leading games and crafts, monitoring activities for safety and appropriate behavior, and helping create a fun and welcoming environment for program participants.
