Is advertising for the following position: Utility Worker/Operator I or II Salary: Negotiable, depending upon qualifications/certifications. Excellent benefit package. Primary Functions: The Utility Worker/Operator I or II will be responsible for routine operation and maintenance of Norris water and wastewater facilities including water purification, wastewater treatment, compliance sampling, ability to make necessary adjustments when needed based on test results, ability to calculate figures and sample testing, and repairs in the distribution and collection system. The position ultimately requires certification in designated field(s). If the applicant does not currently maintain state operator’s certification(s), then the position requires that the new employee obtain the certification, as designated by the Norris Water Commission (NWC), within 12-18 months of employment. (January 9, 2025) The City of Norris is under a Winter Storm Warning starting Friday at 10 am, January 10, 2025. According to the U.S. National Weather Service, significant snow accumulation and a wintry mix are expected.
